Orlando is a beautiful, tropical destination that lets you escape cold winters. Year round, you will never run short of things to do in Orlando. Several of North America’s top tourist attractions all reside in Orlando. You can stay for a week or a month and have a new adventure every day.
Busch Gardens (in Tampa Bay, outside of Orlando) has both animals and rides so the entire family is entertained. Purchase tickets online in advance to save money. You can purchase special “length of stay” passes for unlimited access to the park during your vacation. With the recent birth of a baby giraffe and a new roller coaster, the excitement at Busch Gardens is never-ending. Getting a multi-park pass or flex ticket allows you access to other theme parks of your choice including SeaWorld, Adventure Island, Aquatica and Universal Studios!
SeaWorld is a great place to teach the kids about respecting marine life. View penguins, dolphins, manta rays and the world famous “Shamu” (see the “One Ocean” show). Many of these animals are endangered or threatened and you might never get to see in the wild. The “Pets Ahoy” show displays everyday pets doing amazing feats. SeaWorld is not just for kids – it is for anyone who can appreciate animals and all of their unique and wonderful characteristics!
Aquatica also has some animals and is a sister park to SeaWorld. It is primarily a water park though and both the young and young at heart will love it. There are waterslides for the adventurous and timid and even a lazy river where you can watch tropical fish swim around you. Catch some waves at Cutback Cove and the adjacent Big Surf Shores. The most amazing slide is the Dolphin Plunge, which takes you underwater and through the home of dolphins!
A trip to Orlando wouldn’t be complete without visiting Universal Studios. With over 25 rides (like the ever-popular Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey) and shows like the famous Blue Man Group, you will want to set aside at least a couple of days to make your way through the entire park. Even after the sun goes down and the kids are in bed, you can hit the CityWalk to grab a drink or go dancing within Universal Studios.
Of course no trip to Orlando would be complete without a visit to the happiest place on earth! Disneyworld encompasses every child’s dream vacation. Pose with Disney characters, enjoy rides, shop, dine and sit back and watch some entertainment. There are parades, fireworks and musical shows daily. Whether you fancy pirates, monsters or princesses – Disneyworld Orlando is for everyone.
Orlando holidays are a great way to bond as a family and enjoy some quality time together. Book your hotel and air together to save money. You can also purchase theme park tickets online, which is considerably cheaper than paying at the gate. Make sure you check out all of the hotel reviews before booking and choose one that has a shuttle or is close to the theme parks. Now, get ready for a non-stop fun-filled family adventure!
